Kakelake is an independent gallery/dealer space which also contains an independent bookstore/distro Baby Genius books. The physical shop is contained in the Snakepit artists' compound at 33 High Street, Auckland City. We are open from 11-5 Thursday to Saturday, or by appointment. If you can't make it to the shop, you can purchase some of the quality publications we carry on this blog.

The Constant Losers by Alex Wild


The Constant Losers is the only item that has ever been stolen from Kakelake, on the opening night nonetheless.  This cements its status as a Hot Item.  A novel in the form of zines, notes and internet history, Alex Wild chronicles the ass end of Gen X/beta version of Gen Y in lateninetiesearly2000 Auckland.
